 Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish inventor and scientist who invented the telephone. He was born in 1847 in Edinburgh. With his colleague Thomas Watson, Bell started to experiment with ways of transmitting speech over a long distance. This led to the invention of the telephone. The first telephone communication was said to have happened between Bell and Watson in 1876 while Bell was at one end of the line, and Watson. The first transmitted words were, “Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you!”
